Library
|
|
Program libraries contain programming
routines (functions) written
for specific purposes. A programmer
can call a ready-made routine
residing in a precompiled library
without having to write the routine
him or herself.
Libraries can be added statically
to an executable program file
or they can be linked dynamically
as separate library files that
are loaded by the application
during execution; such dynamic
libraries can be shared by several
programs.
